It's likely to be a good Ruby book - here's why I think so. The Well-Grounded Rubyist is a forthcoming book by David Black, about the Ruby programming language, covering Ruby 1.9. The begin..end pair are not needed in a method definition. I'm currently reading through The Well-Grounded Rubyist. David Black's 'The Well -Grounded Rubyist' has a nice section on Enumerators. I'm overdue for learning a new programming language. I've babbled on enough about this, but let me end by saying that I fully expect that the inclusion of Clojure into the Well-Grounded Rubyist's 6 arsenal will work to strengthen said Rubyist's skills and indeed the language itself. If someone is completely new to Ruby I'd probably recommend Beginning Ruby by Peter Cooper over The Well-Grounded Rubyist. It covers Rails, Ruby, Git, Heroku and a bunch of other stuff.
